Detailed Introduction

This long strip connector mold is engineered for high-density backplane signal transmission housings. The integrated single long cavity insert is arranged with thousands of uniform micro thin pins, which form dense circular terminal holes on the finished black connector strip. The extended linear runner system optimizes melt pressure distribution along the full length of the thin-wall workpiece, eliminating filling lag, shrinkage and warpage at both ends of the long strip product. Position guide posts around the cavity ensure accurate mold closing and protect fragile micro pin cores from collision damage.

The full ultra-precision manufacturing workflow strictly controls micro feature accuracy: dense tiny pin contours are processed via micro wire EDM and sinker EDM to guarantee consistent pin diameter and spacing tolerance; mold steel undergoes vacuum quenching & tempering heat treatment to improve surface hardness and wear resistance; multi-step precision grinding and mirror polishing remove micro burrs around pin holes for smooth demolding without bending the slender connector strip. Optional PVD coating can be applied to pin inserts to strengthen anti-corrosion performance against glass-filled LCP and PA66 high-temperature engineering plastics.

All mold inserts, guide pins and mold base components pass full CMM coordinate measurement inspection before assembly to precisely control pin parallelism, cavity flatness and overall dimensional consistency. Custom development is fully supported based on customer 2D/3D drawings or physical connector samples. Cavity length, pin density, mold steel grade and surface treatment can be adjusted according to daily production volume, plastic material and target mold service life, meeting high-precision mass production demands of long high-density server backplane connectors.
