Mold Trial Workshop

Our mold trial workshop is used for in-house mold testing, process verification, and initial production validation before full-scale manufacturing. The equipment shown is an injection molding machine installed in the trial area and used to evaluate mold performance under controlled molding conditions.

After mold design, machining, EDM, grinding, fitting, and assembly are completed, the mold is moved to the mold trial workshop for practical testing. This stage helps confirm whether the mold structure, parting surfaces, cavity filling, ejection action, cooling layout, and product appearance meet the intended requirements.

Trial and Validation Capabilities

The mold trial workshop is mainly used for:

  • Initial mold testing
  • Injection parameter verification
  • Product sampling
  • Part appearance evaluation
  • Dimensional confirmation
  • Filling and packing assessment
  • Ejection and demolding checks
  • Cooling performance observation
  • Gate and runner verification
  • Mold optimization before release

During a mold trial, technicians install the mold on the injection molding machine and run test cycles using defined process settings. Trial parts are then reviewed to identify whether the mold can produce stable and acceptable results.

Typical evaluation points include:

  • Part filling condition
  • Flash and burr condition
  • Short shot risk
  • Weld lines and flow marks
  • Shrinkage behavior
  • Surface quality
  • Demolding smoothness
  • Ejector performance
  • Dimensional consistency
  • Cycle stability

Role in the Mold Manufacturing Process

The mold trial workshop is an important step between mold assembly and formal production. It connects mold manufacturing with real production behavior and helps confirm whether the completed mold can operate as intended in a molding environment.

A typical workflow may include:

  1. Mold assembly and fitting
  2. Mold installation on the trial machine
  3. Trial parameter setup
  4. Initial sample production
  5. Product and mold inspection
  6. Process adjustment and repeated testing
  7. Mold correction if required
  8. Final validation before release or delivery

Because the mold trial process is carried out within our factory, mold makers, assembly technicians, process personnel, and quality staff can respond quickly when a problem is found. If filling, parting, cooling, appearance, or ejection issues appear during the trial, the mold can be checked and adjusted more efficiently.

Support for Mold Optimization

The mold trial workshop is not only used to confirm that a mold can run, but also to improve mold reliability before mass production. Trial results may lead to adjustments in:

  • Venting structure
  • Gate size or gate position
  • Ejector arrangement
  • Cooling efficiency
  • Parting-surface fitting
  • Insert matching
  • Surface finishing
  • Molding parameters

This helps reduce downstream production risk and supports a smoother transition from tool completion to customer approval or production launch.

Typical Applications

The mold trial workshop is suitable for:

  • Plastic injection molds
  • Product sample verification
  • New mold validation
  • Mold improvement and modification
  • Pre-production trial runs
  • Functional mold testing

The workshop shown represents our in-house mold trial capability. Actual testing procedures are arranged according to the mold structure, plastic material, product geometry, dimensional requirements, and customer approval standard.
