Our precision grinding workshop is equipped with multiple surface grinding machines for the finishing of mold components, tooling parts, precision plates, inserts, punches, and other metal components requiring controlled dimensions and flat surfaces.
The equipment is arranged in dedicated workstations, allowing several operators to process different parts and production batches in parallel. Grinding operations are completed within our factory and coordinated with CNC machining, wire EDM, die-sinking EDM, heat treatment, and dimensional inspection.
Grinding Capabilities
The workshop primarily supports precision surface grinding and detail finishing. During processing, the workpiece is secured on the machine table while the grinding wheel removes a controlled amount of material from the surface.
This process is commonly used to improve:
- Thickness accuracy
- Surface flatness
- Parallelism
- Perpendicularity
- Datum consistency
- Surface finish
- Assembly fit between components
Typical components processed in the workshop include:
- Mold inserts and mold plates
- Punches and die components
- Guide blocks and wear plates
- Precision spacers
- Tooling and fixture components
- EDM electrodes and supporting parts
- Hardened steel components
- Small precision mechanical parts
Support for Mold Component Manufacturing
Grinding is an important stage in mold and tooling production. After CNC machining, heat treatment, or EDM processing, components may require additional grinding to reach their final thickness, datum condition, and assembly dimensions.
For mold inserts, punches, guide components, and precision plates, grinding helps establish accurate reference surfaces for later machining, fitting, and inspection. It can also remove small amounts of heat-treatment deformation or machining allowance before final assembly.
Depending on the component requirements, the process may include:
- Initial dimensional inspection
- Workpiece cleaning and positioning
- Rough grinding
- Semi-finish grinding
- Fine grinding
- Flatness and thickness verification
- Final dimensional inspection
Role in Our Manufacturing Process
The grinding workshop operates as part of our integrated precision manufacturing system. Production drawings, machining allowances, datum requirements, and inspection standards are reviewed before grinding begins.
Operators control wheel condition, feed rate, grinding depth, coolant application, and workpiece positioning according to the material and tolerance requirements of each component. Measurement results are checked during processing to reduce excessive material removal and maintain dimensional consistency.
The multiple-machine layout allows work to be allocated according to part size, material, required accuracy, processing stage, and production schedule. This supports prototype components, low-volume mold parts, replacement tooling, and repeat production.
The workshop shown represents our factory’s precision grinding capacity for mold and mechanical components. Actual grinding methods are selected according to the workpiece material, heat-treatment condition, geometry, machining allowance, and drawing tolerances.
