Understanding the material and the scope of application can help us better provide a material selection for our customers. The following is one of the four commonly used tungsten carbide Cold Forming die materials:

Crl2

Performance: High carbon, high chromium type ledeburite steel, with good hardenability and good wear resistance. Since the carbon mass fraction in the steel can reach up to 2.30%, the steel becomes hard and brittle, so the toughness is poor, it can hardly withstand large impact loads, it is easy to be brittle, and it is easy to form uneven eutectic carbides.

Uses: used to manufacture cold stamping dies and punches that are subject to less impact load and require high wear resistance, cold cutting shears for cutting hard and thin metals, drill sleeves, gauges, wire drawing dies, embossing dies, rubbing dies, etc. Wire plate, drawing die and screw rolling die, etc.

Production varieties: hot rolled material, cold drawn material, forged material, hot rolled steel plate, tungsten carbide Cold Forming die materials of cold drawn steel wire.

Crl2Mo1V1

Performance: High carbon, high chromium type ledeburite steel, if there is no special requirement, diamond is not a mandatory element. Since the content of molybdenum and vanadium is higher than that of Crl2MoV, the structure and grain size of the steel are further refined, which improves the hardenability, strength, and toughness of the steel, and makes the comprehensive performance of the steel better.

Uses: Used to manufacture large and complex cold working dies requiring high wear resistance, such as cold cutting scissors, trimming dies, wire drawing dies, thread rolling boards, thread rolling dies, hemming dies, and cold stamping dies and punches requiring high wear resistance, etc.

Production varieties: hot-rolled material, forged material, cold-drawn material, hot-rolled steel plate, and cold-drawn steel wire.

Crl2MoV

Performance: High carbon, high chromium type ledeburite steel, with good hardenability, can be completely hardened when the section size is below 400mm and has high wear resistance, and the volume change is small during quenching. Its carbon content is much lower than that of Crl2 steel, and molybdenum and vanadium are added. Therefore, the hot workability, impact toughness, and carbide distribution of the steel have been significantly improved.

Uses: Used to manufacture cold working dies with a large cross-section, complex shapes, high wear resistance requirements, and high impact load, such as cold cutting scissors, trimming dies, hemming dies, gauges, wire drawing dies, thread rolling boards, threads Rolling dies, punching dies with complex shapes, deep drawing dies for steel plates, and cold dies and punches that require high wear resistance.

Production varieties: hot-rolled material, forged material, cold-drawn material, hot-rolled steel plate, and cold-drawn steel wire.
